Well the Polaroiding has been as good as it gets over the last few weeks on Lake Jindabyne, with plenty of fish being seen around the margins.Seeing them and catching them are two different things however. Getting your fly to the fish - before they see it is the trick. With a few more good high pressure systems on the maps, this should now only improve over the next few weeks.Best patterns have been sand cased caddis, midge pupa/buzzer patterns, black nymphs, black and peacocks, wooly buggers in brown and olive.

Jindabyne: We have had some very good reports from Jindabyne over the past few weeks, with some really nice rainbows about to 1.5kgs.Mark and Deck from Canberra trolled with 3 colours of lead line and Col 55 Tassie's for 3 rainbows over 1kg and then picked up 3 more rainbows on Powerbait over night.Harry from Canberra trolled out from Kalkite with our Alpine Cobra in the "black Hole" colour for a nice rainbow of 1.5kgs and then picked up another nice brown around the kilo on fly. Marcel Healey also trolled Kalkite with our "Black Hole" for a beautiful 3kg brown and another one at 2kg's ! Shane Jsapriza from Canberra trolled the main basin with our "Strobe" cobra and RMG orange tiger for 2 nice browns at 1.8kg, and 1.5kg's.NSW Fisheries have also released quite a few ex-brood stock fish two weeks ago into Jindabyne from Gaden Trout hatchery. There where between 70 and 100 brown trout to 7kg's, plus brook trout to 2.5kgs and Atlantic salmon to 5kgs. These should all be getting hungry, with anglers likely to start catching a few of these fish over the next couple of months.A lot of the fish being caught have had small goldfish in them, so lures worth a run include:- RMG Scorpion 35's in the Gold chrome and frog colour, legend minnows in our red nosed brown bomber and the deep diving Merlins in green tiger pattern. As well as Tassie devils in the ever reliable N0 36 and 80, as well as our own Alpine Cobra's in the Yellow terror and Alpine Special.
